Personalised Care in Your Own Home

Assistance At Home

Personalised Care in Your Own Home

Most of us, given the choice, would prefer to remain in the security and familiarity of our own home as we age – but practical difficulties can often get in the way.

Assistance at Home aims to provide an appealing alternative to residential care, enabling you or your loved ones to maintain independence and enjoy life to the full.

Assistance at Home was set up by Elena Ayliffe, a senior nurse with considerable experience of providing live-in care for the elderly. Her professional background provides her with a deep and sympathetic understanding of the needs of older people, including those living with long-term illness.

Surrounded by family, friends and neighbours they are still able to enjoy membership of local clubs and religious affiliations, secure in knowing that every assistance they might need, from shopping, cooking and housekeeping to personal care, is in professional hands.

Assistance at Home carers support our clients maintaining independence, enabling choice in everyday life whether choosing what to wear or eat, arranging visits from friends and family or planning a day out.

The certified carer provides care tailored to the individual, including medication compliance, but also companionship whilst ensuring safety and reassurance in the familiar surroundings of the clients’ own home.

What our clients say

“Elena really cares about her Clients’ welfare and works hard to ensure that the care assistants she introduces are competent, reliable and kind. I also find her recognition of the importance of companionship between the client and care assistant very reassuring, as also the fact that her involvement with the client does not end when a care assistant is in place, because she wants to ensure that the client is satisfied and happy. I wish that there had been a service like this when I was looking after my parents.”

Lucianne Sawyer CBE, SRN, Dip.SA, MSc.
Community Care Research & Consultancy

“Before using Elena Ayliffe we had used a larger agency but carers did not have the experience or the training to cope with mum’s advanced symptoms of Parkinson’s. Elena, has visited my mum regularly and has provided carers with the right background and training to ensure that she is as happy as possible and well looked after during this very difficult time.”

Roger, Wimbledon Park

“Elena has provided Carers for my Father since November, 2013 and they continue to provided excellent Support as his needs increase.

The Carers are so totally dedicated, it was the hardest thing to hand over his day and night care, I felt guilty that I could no longer provide him this level of support but once they came to our assistance it took only a short time for me to feel totally at ease and now with over a years experience with them they care for my Father in exactly the way I would and not only in Care terms but also in sharing his interests of Gardening, Football and his sense of humour.

I would have no hesitation in recommending them, they have made a wonderful difference to my whole Family and leave us to enjoy the ‘Fun Times’ which are now not clouded by the day & night rigors which has given my Father his self esteem and pride back. Thank You!”

Mrs Brenda Wilson

“Elena Ayliffe has provided me with caring services since January 2013. My mother is house-bound with Parkinson’s and associated disabilities. As Owner, Elena carries out her duties with cheerful professionalism and her support is the bed-rock of the 24-hour service which underpins my mother’s care. As to the role played by the Live-In (Petra), a more cheerful worker you could not find. Petra is both professional and reliable and has rapidly become a part of the family. We have no hesitation in recommending them as a first-rate service.”

Mr. D. G

“Elena and her team of carers looked after my Father for 4 years. We had up to 2 careers living in at one time – one worked through the night and the other during the day. Their care was exceptional and they became a big part of the family. We were able to enjoy numerous family events (lunches etc) with the carers coming with us.

Elena is brilliant, she was always checking in with us to ensure everything was ok! I wouldn’t hesitate to highly recommend her services. Without their care life would have been so different for our family and we would not have been able to spend the quality time that we needed and wanted with our Father. We are still in contact with the carers and we exchange seasonal wishes every year.”
